Udaynarayanpur block is situated at 45 kms from Howrah District and surrounded by Damoder and Mundeswari River. Flood is commonor occurred in every year coming a devastating effect on lives, dwelling places and agriculture crops. Rescue operation is of utmost importance for survival.
To combat the devastating flood of every year, some energetic youth of Itarai and allied village organized themselves and formed an organization namely Itarai Asha Deep in the year 1990 and under took various plans and programmes to give relief to the flood sticker or affected people of Udaynarayanpur Block .But they realized the fact not to solve all the problems in resultant ways due non registration of the organization. Ultimately, they got it registered in the year 1995 and since then Itarai Asha Deep has been playing a dominant role in socio economic development of the downtrodden, distressed, abandoned, underprivileged physically exception visually impaired and mentally retarded persons of Udaynarayanpur Block of Howrah district of west Bengal with result oriented and multifaceted programs and have been able to create a new dimension in social development arena. We have started to be close to the poor and marginalized, to help them, to struggle for them and do the necessary.
. It was a consensus of the organization that ITARAI ASHA DEEP should take the leadership in developing the quality of life and ensure the rights of the poor in the rural area of Howrah District and West Bengal as well.
